This is a short video I made of me booting into, playing around with, and shutting down ReactOS on my laptop. It took 38 seconds to install. ReactOS is fast and light, but quite unstable and not quite... erm... done (it lacked a battery monitoring feature). I support the ReactOS project, not in spite of Microsoft, but because it will bring the user-friendliness, speed, reliability and application variety to every person with an information device.

Here's where my debunking-ery stops short - it is impossible to play high-end games on Windows Vista. Impossible in the sense that, while they will run, they will not run well. Both Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Lost Coast ran terribly on my Windows Vista box (the custom built computer I have, check my profile). I aim to try osme other games now.

This is a video I made of some of the notable features in Windows Vista. The tower I had Windows Vista installed on was a little too pokey to do full screen (1280x1024) screen recording with all of the visual goodies on. I might do a follow-up video. :D

Two friends and mutual Star Wars fans inadvertently bid on eBay for the same, one-of-a-kind, vintage 1979 Millenium Falcon model. When this dawns on the both of them, the battle is on -- literally. Both my freind Stefan and I had gotten the "We need to make a movie," jitters for quite some time, and one night, we just made a movie. It was filmed in my basement, on a school night (mahahaha) and took us 'til three in the morning to finish. We both concur that it was time well spent, and...

This is a spaceship thingy that I sporadically work on in 3D Studio Max. I made this animation of it months ago, and I rather liked it. The exception of it is the reflections, which are poorly low resolution, no doubt the work of the Max Default Scanline Renderer rearing it's ugly head. Perhaps it's time I installed V-Ray. Oh well. Enjoy.

This is a nice movie poster/blog picture that I made. It portrays the outcome that I hope for in the recent "European Union hates Microsoft" dispute. Slight rant here, but I really have nothing against Europe. I have a lot against unfair trials. "Free Market" and "Democracy" seem to be the two things lacking in the proceedings regarding Microsoft vs. the EU. So I made this pic. I hope Bill Gates sees it someday, I think he'll like it. :D -Pikl

This wasn't previewed at CES 2006. Maybe CES 2001, but not 2006. Probably not even at CES 2001. It's not a terribly revolutionary, merely it's my laptop. Featuring an 850 MHz Pentium III, 256 MB PC100 SDRAM, 20 GB hard drive and an 8 MB Rage M1 graphics card. It has a 14.1" screen and a PCMCIA Linksys 54mbps 802.11g wireless adapter. It can play Age of Empires II and maybe Call of Duty... and it can surf the web. Tee hee. I know it's not much... but it's a lappy. -Pikl

Previewed at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show, this is a concept design for a mobile gaming system carrying Dell's flagship name -- the XPS. Featuring an Intel Core Duo processor, and likely, a Geforce Go 7800 GTX or even the soon-to-come G71-based graphics card (Geforce Go 7900 GTX?). It features a 20.1-inch screen with an 11ms response rate. Good stuff. Big, though. -Pikl
